SIDE TRIP to Makati Medical Center

Makati Medical Center is a 717-bed tertiary hospital in the Philippines. The Hospital began operation on May 31, 1969. They conducted the country's first successful heart surgery in the Philippines. Makati Medical Center is located at Amorsolo St., Legaspi Village, Makati City. It is within walking distance from RCBC Towers in Ayala Avenue or from Makati Post Office in Buendia (Gil Puyat Avenue).

HISTORY of Ayala Avenue

The part of the avenue, from Paseo de Roxas to Makati Avenue (near of it), was a runway of the Nielson Airport, Luzon's first airport.The airport was in blaze on December 10, 1941 when Japanese attacked it. Lesson #1: Where is Ayala Ave?

QUESTION: Where is Ayala Avenue?
ANSWER: Ayala Avenue is located in Makati City. To go to Ayala Avenue from North EDSA, ride a bus with "Ayala/LRT/Leveriza" sign board (the fare is around Php25-30 from North EDSA). If you're from Guadalupe (Tulay), take a jeep bound for Taft/Leveriza (jeep terminal is located under MRT Guadalupe). Just tell the driver to drop you off at RCBC (located at corner Buendia-Ayala Avenue). The jeep fare is only Php7.00 per person.
